Caitlyn Rooke
I am a visual artist settled in Galway, Ireland. Originally from Pennsylvania, USA, my work reflects this intercontinental experience and shifts between places in a dreamlike vision of shifting memories, specific places knotting together, and a fluid sense of belonging. I work with vinyl emulsion and oil paints with the occasional sculptural and text based piece.
I received my BFA in 2010 and my MFA in 2023, in between those formative experiences I’ve exhibited work in many group shows, been awarded the Whyte’s Award and the Contemporary Irish Art Society Award, been shortlisted for the NUIG Award, and longlisted for the RDS Visual Arts Award. My work is in the OPW state art collection as well as various private collections.
